VCK Backs Vijay’s TVK Amid Tamil Nadu Govt Formation Drama

The government formation process in Tamil Nadu took another dramatic turn on Saturday as the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) decided to extend support to actor-politician C. Joseph Vijay and his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), according to senior party sources.

VCK president Thol. Thirumavalavan is expected to formally announce the party’s backing shortly, ending days of speculation over its stand. The VCK currently holds two Assembly seats, strengthening TVK’s position amid the ongoing political uncertainty in the State.

Meanwhile, five Congress MLAs from Tamil Nadu were reportedly shifted to Hyderabad amid fears of possible poaching attempts. Sources said Congress MLA P. Viswanathan from Melur is leading the group during their stay in Hyderabad. The Congress has already announced support for TVK, and party insiders claim Viswanathan could be considered for a ministerial role if Vijay forms the government.

The political drama intensified further after a fresh dispute erupted between TVK and the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) over claims that an AMMK MLA had extended support to Vijay.
