Two key functionaries of the Goa Congress social media team have stepped down from their posts, with one of them openly criticising the party leadership over recent appointments and what she described as a growing disconnect with grassroots workers.
State Social Media Coordinator Shamila Siddiqui announced her resignation while expressing disappointment with the party’s recent decisions. In a public statement, Siddiqui questioned the leadership’s approach to appointments and alleged that dedicated workers at the grassroots level were being overlooked.

She said the party appeared increasingly disconnected from workers who had been actively strengthening the organisation on the ground, adding that recent developments had left many loyal members disillusioned.
Meanwhile, Goa Congress Social Media Chairman Divyakumar also tendered his resignation. Unlike Siddiqui, he cited personal reasons for stepping down and did not comment on internal party matters.
The twin resignations come at a time when the Goa Congress is undergoing organisational changes, including recent leadership appointments that have triggered discussions within party ranks.
The developments have highlighted growing concerns among some party members over internal functioning and decision-making, even as the Congress seeks to strengthen its organisational structure in the state.
Party leaders are yet to issue a detailed response to the resignations and the concerns raised by Siddiqui.
