Prominent Scheduled Tribe (ST) leaders in Goa have urged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership to ensure reservation for Scheduled Tribes in the Goa Legislative Assembly before the upcoming state elections.
In a letter addressed to BJP Goa President Damodar Naik, senior ST leaders including Ramesh Tawadkar, Govind Gaude, Antonio Vas, Prakash Velip and Vasu Meng Gaonkar called for immediate action on the long-pending demand for political reservation of Scheduled Tribes in the state legislature.

The leaders stressed that adequate representation of Scheduled Tribes in the Goa Legislative Assembly is essential to safeguard the interests and rights of tribal communities. They urged the party leadership to take concrete steps to implement the reservation mechanism before the next Assembly elections.
The memorandum reportedly warns that if no meaningful progress is made in the near future, the delegation will escalate the matter and seek intervention from the Union Home Minister.
