Traffic management in South Goa is set for a major technological upgrade with the introduction of AI-based monitoring systems at key junctions.
South Goa SP Rajendra Prabhudessai said police have identified and recommended 86 locations, which have now been considered by the government for implementation.

The smart system will first undergo a two to three-week trial period to collect and analyse traffic data. Once fully operational, AI-powered signals will automatically adjust according to real-time traffic conditions, helping ease congestion.
The system will also detect traffic violations and generate e-challans for offenders through the prescribed channels, marking a significant step towards smarter and more efficient traffic management in Goa.
