A family in Ranoi, Aldona, had a narrow escape after a massive tree, uprooted by incessant heavy rainfall, came crashing down on their house, trapping them inside by blocking the only entrance to the residence.
The incident occurred amid persistent monsoon showers, leaving the occupants stranded inside the house. Personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services (FES) rushed to the spot and carried out a rescue operation, cutting through the fallen tree to safely evacuate the family. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The fallen tree caused extensive damage to the property, crushing parked vehicles and damaging an electricity pole in the process. Preliminary estimates place the total loss at over ₹1 lakh.
