Birch Nightclub Licence Fraud: Mapusa Police File 2,306-Page Chargesheet Against Five Accused

Mapusa Police have filed a 2,306-page chargesheet against five accused in connection with the alleged forgery of a Health Department No Objection Certificate (NOC) to obtain an excise licence for the Birch nightclub in Goa.

The chargesheet names Saurabh Luthra, Gaurav Luthra and Ajay Gupta, directors of Birch nightclub’s parent company, Being GS Hospitality Arpora Goa LLP, along with Gauresh Gawas, an Upper Division Clerk (UDC) in the Excise Department, and Dinesh Khera.

According to the police, the accused allegedly forged a Health Department NOC to secure an excise licence for the nightclub and thereby cheated government authorities.

As part of the investigation, Mapusa Police have cited around 50 individuals as prosecution witnesses in the chargesheet, which details the evidence collected during the probe.

The case will now proceed before the court, where the chargesheet and supporting evidence will be examined as part of the judicial process.
