Goa’s reservoirs have witnessed a substantial increase in water storage following sustained monsoon rainfall across the state, according to the Water Resources Department’s latest data released on July 7, 2026.
Among the state’s major reservoirs, Gaunem Dam has recorded the highest storage level at 68.7%, followed by Amthane Dam at 65.9% and Chapoli Dam at 53.8%.

Selaulim, Goa’s largest reservoir and a key source of drinking water, has reached 42.5% of its storage capacity. Meanwhile, Tillari Dam stands at 43.3% capacity and is currently releasing 50.85 cubic metres per second (cumecs) of water.
The monsoon has also brought heavy rainfall to several catchment areas. Anjunem recorded the highest rainfall at 1,159.5 mm, while the Tillari catchment received 1,099.4 mm, both crossing the 1,000 mm mark.
The steady rise in reservoir levels is expected to strengthen the state’s water reserves as the southwest monsoon continues, improving water availability for drinking, irrigation and other essential needs in the months ahead.
