The United States is strengthening its strategic partnership with India by expanding cooperation in defence, civil nuclear energy and emerging technologies, including trusted artificial intelligence (AI), US Assistant Secretary of State S. Paul Kapur has said.
Kapur made the remarks during a roundtable discussion on India at the Hoover Institution, attended by former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and former US Ambassador to India David C. Mulford.

In a post on X on Monday, Kapur said the Donald Trump administration’s engagement with India was generating employment opportunities in the United States while reinforcing critical supply chains vital to both countries and the wider region.
“Under this Administration, US engagement with India is creating jobs at home and strengthening supply chains that are critical to both the United States and the region,” Kapur wrote.
Highlighting the growing scope of bilateral ties, he said the two nations are broadening collaboration in defence and civil nuclear sectors while also working together on trusted AI and other advanced technologies expected to drive future economic growth.
“We are expanding defence and civil nuclear cooperation, including the adoption of trusted AI and other emerging technologies powering the economy,” Kapur said.
The remarks reflect the continued focus of both countries on deepening strategic and technological cooperation across key sectors as the India-US partnership continues to evolve.
