A portion of the road caved in near the Navelim Church junction on Tuesday, raising safety concerns among motorists and pedestrians using the busy stretch.
Local resident George Barreto said two women lost their balance and fell while negotiating the damaged section of the road on Tuesday morning. One of the women was a senior citizen. Fortunately, neither sustained serious injuries in the incident.

Barreto alleged that the deteriorating condition of the road has been causing inconvenience to commuters and criticised the authorities for failing to address the issue promptly. He claimed the damaged stretch has remained unattended for the past three days, posing a risk to public safety.
Residents have urged the concerned authorities to carry out immediate repair work to the road and take necessary measures to prevent further accidents at the site.
