SGDH Records 71 Dengue Cases in August So Far, 27 Patients Hospitalised

South Goa District Hospital (SGDH) has recorded 71 positive dengue cases so far in August 2026, with 27 patients currently admitted, highlighting the continued prevalence of dengue in the region.

The hospital had reported 91 positive dengue cases in July, while 38 cases were recorded in June and nine in May.

Doctors have urged people to remain alert, particularly those experiencing persistent fever. They advised individuals with fever lasting three to four days to undergo dengue testing promptly and take necessary precautions.

Health officials have also stressed the importance of preventing mosquito breeding and maintaining cleanliness around homes and residential areas to reduce the risk of dengue transmission.

The rising number of cases has prompted doctors to advise residents not to ignore prolonged fever or delay medical consultation.
