VASCO: A Goa-bound Vistara flight was diverted back to Bengaluru on Monday afternoon after a dog was spotted on the Dabolim airport runway by the air traffic controller.
The flight later departed from Bengaluru at 4.55 pm and arrived in Goa at 6.15 pm, informed airport sources. Earlier, the flight had departed from the Bengaluru airport at 12.55 pm and returned at 3.05 pm, sources said.

The pilot was asked to “hold for sometime” as a stray dog was spotted on the runway of the Dabolim airport but “he preferred to return to Bengaluru,” Airport director SVT Dhanamjaya Rao stated.
On Monday, Vistara in a post on X said, “Flight UK881 from Bengaluru to Goa (BLR-GOI) has been diverted to Bengaluru due to runway restriction at Goa (GOI) airport and is expected to arrive in Bengaluru at 15:05 hrs.”
Meanwhile, the Airport Authority of India (AAIT) has floated multiple tenders for various works at the Dabolim international airport thereby providing opportunity for entrepreneurs and businesses.
