PORVORIM: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Tuesday disclosed that the State government is planning to integrate the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY) with the central government’s national insurance scheme Ayushmann Bharat.
“Today a presentation was done on how take forward the State’s health insurance scheme DDSSY and the central government’s Ayushman Bharat. We have to work out the modalities. We are discussing how the central scheme can be integrated into our State health insurance scheme,” Rane said.
He added that if needed the State government will extend the renewal period of the insurance of existing cards. “DDSSY health insurance scheme has been in service till date even without tie up with any insurance company. If needed the government will extend the renewal period of cards for another two months,” he said.
The Health Minister urged empanelled hospitals to continue accepting DDSSY cards as the scheme remains in operation.
“We will be writing to all the hospitals informing that the scheme is ongoing and to accept the cards. We will assure them that no payment will be held back,” he stated.
