MARGAO: Officials of the Forest department on Monday raided a place at Sinquetim-Navelim and seized a number of birds and animals.
Acting on a tip-off, the Range Forest Officer with the assistance of Assistant Conservator of Forest and head of an NGO Amrut Singh raided the house on Monday noon.
Deputy Conservator of Forests – South, Sanjay Waradkar, informed that the seized species includes three parakeets, two civet cats, a black kite, one python and two crocodiles.
He said the seizure was from the residence at Sinquetim, while disclosing plans to initiate action against the person under the Wildlife Protection Act.
