OLD GOA: Stating that Narendra Modi’s Vijay Sankalp rally will change the history of India, North Goa MP Shripad Naik urged the people of Goa, particularly from St Cruz constituency, to turn up in large numbers so that they become part of this history.
Naik was speaking after inaugurating the registration office for participating in the rally, at Merces, Wednesday.
“It is indeed a great honour for the Merces people that the rally will be held in the village,” Naik informed while urging the Merces locals to work together to make this rally a success and make Merces proud.
“Corruption is at its peak, Pakistan is killing Indian soldiers, China is time and again threatening India, farmers are committing suicides while on the other hand the Congress leaders are busy looting the country,” Naik said and urged the gathering to help bring a change and strengthen the cause of Modi by winning both the seats for the BJP.
“The BJP wants to come to power to serve the people while the Congress wants to come to power to loot the nation,” Naik said and informed that the people should vote for the BJP and make Narendra Modi prime minister so that he could lead the nation towards the path of progress.
On the occasion, Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar said that though the BJP has set a target of 1 lakh for the rally, the workers should work hard so that it crosses the 1.25 lakh mark.
“In the recent Assembly elections in four states, the BJP drubbed the Congress 4-0, which is a clear indication of the things to follow in the Lok Sabha polls,” said Parulekar, while predicting that the BJP will win more than 270 seats and Modi will form the next government at the Centre.
Proposing the vote of thanks, Hemant Goltkar informed that registration offices will also be opened in Chimbel and Santa Cruz in the next few days, while urging the gathering to involve all the people in St Cruz constituency to make the rally a grand success.
St Cruz BJP block president Pramod Kamat introduced the dignitaries.
BJP vice-presidents Govind Parvatkar and Anil Hoble, Merces panch Lavu Hoble and others were present on the occasion.
