MARGAO: Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao, who was found positive along with his wife for the COVID infection, was discharged from the Manipal Hospital on Friday and was advised for home quarantine for the next 10 days.
Alemao, after being discharged said, “Life and death is in the hands of our creator God, Jesus and Mother Mary are the final deciders. And, I had totally surrendered to them seeking their intercession through fervent prayers. It was faith in Almighty God. How grateful I am for God’s benevolent intercession right from the time I was confirmed COVID positive along with my wife. I did pray to Our Lady of Vailankani, Infant Jesus, St Francis Xavier, St Anthony, St Joseph Vaz, Padre Agnel, all the saints and angels.”
Churchill added, “Our special thanks to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant for all his help. I would also like to place on record my sincere gratitude to all other ministers, MLAs, former MLAs, my dear people from Benaulim and Navelim Constituencies and other people from across Goa, and overseas, the All India Football Federation and Goa Football Association, clubs, players and officials, who time and again have been inquiring about my health and keeping me in their prayers.”
“Special thanks to Dr Shekar Salkar, Dr Amol Mahaldar, Dr Oscar Rebello, Dr Misha, Dr Dhaneshri Kamat, Dr Joysana Moraes, Dr Neefa Fernandes, Dr Henrique and all the other doctors, nurses and all the staff members of Manipal Hospital for having taken very good care of me and my wife. I also pray that all those who are undergoing treatment may recover fast,” he said.
