VASCO: Expressing displeasure over the delay in getting clearances of Union ministry proposals and taunting the State government and its political leaders, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday said that he likes people who can get things done and those who respond actively to the proposals.
“I like to speak the truth and hence don’t hesitate while speaking. I like people who can get things done. I want to appeal to the state leaders and bureaucrats to think positive. For such a small job it took one-and-a-half year. Here in Goa proposals faces so many jerks,” Gadkari said, while displaying dissatisfaction over the delay.
“You leaders should not worry, as the media will not stop writing or highlighting what they want. It is their duty to write what is happening and why it is not happening. Let them write as they have to fill their newspapers space. But you all should not get scared. Take conscious decision and if you think this should be done then do it and if not then please don’t do it,” Gadkari said giving advice to state leaders.
Interestingly, while Gadkari was taunting the BJP leaders including Rajya Sabha MP and Goa State Unit BJP president Vinay Tendulkar, MP Narendra Sawaikar, ministers Francis D’souza and Mauvin Godinho, and BJP MLAs including Alina Saldanha, Milind Naik, Nilesh Cabral who were on the dais were busy trying to read between the lines.
