55 new deaths, 3751 new COVID +ve cases

PANJIM: Goa reported 3,751 new cases on Saturday with a COVID positivity rate of 46.22%.

Furthermore, as per the COVID mortality bulletin released by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) on Saturday, there were 55 deaths reported within 24 hours.

39 persons succumbed to the infection at Goa Medical College (GMC); 13 at South Goa District Hospital (SGDH); 1 at Noth Goa District Hospital (NGDH); 1 at the COVID ESI hospital in Margao; and one at a private hospital in South Goa.

The youngest to pass away was a 35-year-old woman from Cansaulim, while there were two deaths of two 36-year-olds, one from Porvorim and one from Navelim. 310 new patients were hospitalised and there were 191 patients who were discharged from their respective hospitals.

The number of active cases has gone up to 32,387 while the total number of deaths has risen to 1,612.

There were 3,025 persons who recovered in the last 24 hours and the recovery rate is at 70.74 per cent.

While 3,387 new patients have been placed under home isolation, 8,115 samples were tested.

Urban Health Centre (UHC) Margao (2321) has above 2,000 active cases while the Community Health Centre (CHC) Sanquelim (1416); UHC Mapusa (1803); UHC Panjim (1950), Primary Health Centre (PHC) Candolim (1812); PHC CHimbel (1168); PHC Siolim (1103); PHC Porvorim (1454), UHC Vasco (1017); and PHC Ponda (1817) have above 1,000 active cases.
