Robbery bid made on ATM at Parcem

Taking advantage of the absence of a security guard, a group of three robbers made an attempt to rob an ATM of State Bank of India, Parcem branch, on Wednesday midnight. When all their efforts to open the machine failed, the robbers fled with the passbook printing machine.
According to Pernem police, late night on Wednesdays at around 1.35 am, three unknown persons entered the room housing the ATM and made an attempt to open same, but since they were not carrying any equipment, they failed to open it.
PI Sandesh Chodankar said, “The three were not professional robbers. They were not carrying any equipment to open the machine. We have attached CCTV footage of the ATM. But since the faces of robbers were covered with plastic bags, they cannot be recognised.”
Meanwhile, Pernem police has recovered the Passbook printing machine from the in jungle of Parcem at some distance from the bank.
Pernem police have registered a case of robbery. PSI Mahesh Kerkar is investigating the case.
