Oppn demands dues of mid-day meals providers

PANJIM: As the self-help groups, providing mid-day meals to school children, protested over non-payment of their dues for the past over four months, on Thursday, Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat demanded immediate clearance of their bills.
Kamat has sought intervention of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, who holds the Education portfolio.
“I demand that Chief Minister should immediately order to clear all the pending dues of the self-help groups towards the supply of mid-day meals,” he said.
Kamat, however, appreciated the humanitarian gesture of the self help groups who continued supplying the meals to the children without receiving their rightful payments in the last four months and said that he totally sympathised with all of them. Kamat also said that he will not hesitate to agitate with all the self help groups if the govt fails to clear their dues immediately.
