MARGAO: The executive Magistrate Salcete has recorded a statement of a 26- year-old married woman from Per-Seraulim, who suffered burn injuries while she was setting fire to garbage in front of her house.

Colva PI Filomena Costa said that the woman is under treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Bambolim.
This incident took place last Saturday late in the evening. The woman, whose name was not disclosed by police, set fire to garbage but failed to realise that there was sanitizer nearby, due to which there was a blast and she suffered burn injuries.
The flames were brought under control by locals, who rushed to the spot and took her to South Goa district hospital at Margao and later shifted to GMCH. Police said that the case is under investigation.
