Ponda street vendors to be shifted to market complex

The roadside vendors sitting on the market road and open footpath were obstructing the traffic and movement of the people visiting the market.

PONDA: The street vendors conducting business in open braving sun and rain are to be accommodated at Ponda market. 

The work of new market shed, to accommodate the roadside or street vendors to conduct business, is in progress and is likely to be completed in the next week. Thereafter, these vendors will be shifted into this shed, which is erected in the premises of Ponda Market Complex on the mezzanine floor.

The roadside vendors sitting on the market road and open footpath were obstructing the traffic and movement of the people visiting the market. This problem will be solved after shifting of roadside vendors into new market shed. This shed will also help to celebrate Ganesh festival. 

Ponda Municipal Council Chairperson Ritesh Naik said, “This shed will provide relief to the vendors as well as customers.”
