It is unfortunate to note that Govind Pansare lost his battle for life after being shot in Kolhapur. Pansare was a man who rose from being a newspaper vendor and a peon to the position of a University Professor. He gave an accurate depiction of Shivaji Maharaj, participated in the Goa Liberation Movement and was an avid writer. It is unfortunate to see that another rationalist has been lost after Dr Narendra Dabholkar.
