PONDA: The All Goa Truck Owners’ Association (AGTOA) is ready to settle for an ore transportation rate of Rs 11.10, provided that Vedanta withdraws a case against nine truck owners and reinstates the services of trucks engaged by the All Goa Truck Owners’ Association president.
On Thursday, All Goa Truck Owners’ Association, truck owners and Vedanta officials held a meeting on the ore transportation issue at the Dharbandora panchayat hall.
After Vedanta officials proposed a transportation rate of Rs 11.10 per tonne per kilometer, the truck owners said they would settle on the conditions that Vedanta withdraws a case against nine truck owners and reinstates the services of trucks engaged by All Goa Truck Owners’ Association president Nilkant Gawas, which were terminated, as he was leading the agitation over the transportation rates.
Meanwhile, All Goa Truck Owners’ Association has called for a meeting on Friday at 10 am in Usgao-Vadakade to take a final decision on the ore transportation issue.
