PORVORIM, NOV 21 A 44-year-old native of Orissa was suspected to have been murdered in his room at a construction site in Porvorim on Sunday.

A 44-year-old native of Orissa was suspected to have been murdered in his room at a construction site in Porvorim on Sunday.
According to Porvorim Police, deceased Ganga Mandal along with his son Sanyasi (21) had arrived from Orissa on Sunday morning.
Police further informed that the duo was staying in a room at the construction site in Porvorim. His son, Sanyasi, left for Mapusa in the morning to make some purchases. However, when Sanyasi returned at about 10.30 am, he found his father, Ganga, dead.Porvorim Police rushed to the spot and conducted panchanama and later sent the body to GMC Hospital at Bambolim for postmortem.
As the post mortem report indicated that the death of Ganga Mandal has occurred due to asphyxia as a result of suffocation and as some bruises were found on his neck, police have registered it as murder. Police Inspector Devendra Gaad is investigating the case.
