‘Work of replacing old Margao sewerage pipeline tendered’

MARGAO: Responding to demands for solving the sewerage problems in Margao,

which are affecting water bodies and the River Sal, PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar has stated that the work of replacing the old sewerage pipeline has been tendered for Rs 26 crore and is expected to be complete by June-end.
Sources added that the replacement is for the old sewerage pipeline running from Arlem via Madel, Khareband to the sewage treatment plant (STP).
Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar had recently inspected the STP in Navelim and had said that all remaining works would be completed by March, while Navelim MLA Avertano Furtado had stated that all related problems would be addressed through these measures.
