VASCO: Condoling the death of a young girl in a road mishap at Cortalim, Minister for Forest and Environment Alina Saldanha said heavy vehicles plying along the Thana-Loutolim road will be diverted through the Verna Industrial Estate.
“I will take up the issue with Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar,” Saldanha told Herald.
She directed the traffic police to post traffic personnel at the Thana junction to divert all heavy traffic via the Verna Industrial Estate and also to post traffic police at the highway junction near the school to regulate traffic during school hours.
Following the new traffic regulations, all heavy vehicles were stopped from plying along the Thana-Lotulim road.
