Our Lady of Piety Chapel situated on top of Monte Hill at Chandor needs urgent repairs. The windows frame and glasses are broken and the rain water is damaging the inner walls. Even the door shade is about to fall down and needs urgent repair by the metal supporting the pipes. This is a famous chapel where the Novena and Feast of Our Lady of Piety (Piedade) take place in the month of October.
On January 6, on the Three Kings feast day, dressed Three Kings, from the Monte Hill chapel, come down riding on the horses towards the main Chandor church. In order to protect the inner walls in the monsoon, the damaged windows have to be repaired on urgent basis. There is also an urgent need of signboards outside the chapel reading “Drinking Prohibited”, “Do Not Litter the Place” etc. Request the concerned authorities to look into the window repairs at the earliest.
