PORVORIM: A man was injured while goods worth an estimated Rs 50,000 were destroyed in the fire at Bastora on Saturday evening. A fire tender rushed to the site and managed to extinguish the fire within an hour.
The house owner, Ramakrishnan Bablo Naik was asleep in the house and his wife had gone out for some work.
Naik was ill and was unable to escape from the house. He sustained 40% burn injuries and has been admitted to GMCl for treatment.
