MAPUSA: A hat-trick from Lionel D’Souza helped Dunes Sports Club secure a 7-1 victory over Anjuna Gymkhana in GFA’s U-14 league at Morjim ground, Wednesday. Dunes led 2-0 at the interval.
Aniket Chopdekar scored on either side of the break to make it 3-0, before Vineet Bugde added the fourth. Omkar Satalkar came up with the goal of the game when he shot from 40 yards out to catch the Anjuna goalkeeper off guard and unaware.
Lionel added a further two before the end, to take his personal tally to 7 goals in the last three games.
At Don Bosco ground, hosts Don Bosco Oratory mustered up a 4-0 win over Santo Estevam Sports Club. Don Bosco led through a Clive Monteiro goal. In the second half, Clive added one more, while Aldred D’Souza and Aaryan Gonsalves also scored.
