PANJIM: In the view of the ongoing G20 Summit meeting District Magistrate, North Goa has restricted the movement of heavy and multi-axle vehicles on Dona Paula-Bambolim road from April 17, 2023 to April 20, 2023. The order has been issued in this regard to prevent any untoward incident involving heavy vehicles.
It may be recalled that on April 16 an accident occurred on the road near Manipal Hospital on Dona Paula – Bambolim road wherein a multi axle trolley carrying dismantled tower crane, while proceeding from Mathias Prestige Housing complex Dona Paula towards Bambolim side, hit the road side footpath and turned turtle and on one side of the road and the driver along with the occupants sustained minor injuries.

The movement of heavy traffic has been restricted in view of the ongoing G20 Summit meetings and side events at Hotel Taj Convention and Hotel Grant Hyatt, there is heavy VIP movement along the Doan Paula Bambolim route and considering the magnitude of the event, smooth and unobstructed movement of the VIP’s needs to be ensured.
