Vistara launches flight to Goa

Team Herald PANJIM: Vistara, a joint venture between Tata group and Singapore Airlines, flew on its inaugural flight to Goa, today. The flight from New Delhi to Goa arrived at 11.20 am.

Vistara began India operations on January 9 with a weekly frequency of 68 flights. “This will be scaled up to 164 a week by March,” said Phee Teik Yeoh, CEO, Vistara.
According to Mr Yeoh, Vistara would be a full service carrier which would be affordable and on par with all other airlines as far as prices went but far above as far as service went.
“We are delighted to announce the expansion of our network with flights from Delhi to Goa. Goa offers huge potential in terms of passenger traffic. With the introduction of our new flights, we are in a strong position to enhance domestic air connectivity and provide the seamless and personalized Vistara experience to more customers in India. We are confident that travellers on this route will appreciate the unique value proposition we offer at a competitive price,” Yeoh said. “eventually we will be operating overseas – hopefully very soon,” he added.
According to him Indian aviation is on the cusp of change as there is a lot of potential as far as seats, etc – basically all parameters pointing to only one thing – the tremendous potential in the aviation sector.
According to him Goa which enjoys the reputation of being one of the most coveted holiday destinations in India is a natural addition to Vistara’s route network.  He said that by the end of this month they would be flying 9 aircrafts.
