The City SP of Meerut Akhilesh Narayan Singh, told some anti CAA protestors, in all likelihood muslims, to go to Pakistan, is they did not like India. They were allegedly shouting Pakistan zindabad slogans. The Chief of the Army staff Bipin Rawat, at a function said leaders are not those who lead people to arson and violence alluding to the student protests in universities and didn’t speak a work on widespread violence indulged in the police. The comments of two one in uniform, one an SP level officer in a city and the other the Chief of India’s combined armed forces, are alarming because they are both in uniform at either end of the seniority and hierarchy platform. As always, Café gets a Goan perspective to debates and issues that matter to India and speaks to Goans and others with strong Goan connect.
