had a great onscreen presence and charisma and she maintained herself so well.
She was a very beautiful and graceful personality. For me, ‘Sadma’ was one of
her best performances. It was one movie that had a great impact on me as she
portrayed a childlike behaviour. I also loved her portrayal in ‘Mom’ as she
takes revenge. She was part of ‘Mr India’, a film which we watched as children
and these childhood memories will forever remain in our minds.

It
is a great loss for the film industry. She had made a great comeback with her
second innings in Bollywood with ‘English Vinglish’. I loved her films like
‘Sadma’ and ‘Lamhe’; in the latter, a Yash Chopra-directed film, she played a
double role of mother and daughter. Both these films stood out for me because
they took up different issues and the performances were not for just a
Bollywood commercial film. I met Sridevi at the International Film Festival of
India in November 2017 and she was such a shy person, who wouldn’t interact
much with anyone. I don’t know what made her change when she stepped in front
of the camera.

I
have been a huge fan of Sridevi since my school and college days. I had the
opportunity to meet her in person for the International Film Festival of India
on November 20, 2017 and it was a dream come true. She was a great actress and
a star. In a time when the films were hero dominated, she could carry a film on
her shoulders and make them solo hits. She has a childlike innocence and yet
was a larger than life personality. My favourite film is ‘Nagina’, which is a
well made fantasy film. She dominated the industry in the ‘80s and ‘90s, making
her the first female superstar.

loved Sridevi and she was one of the first actresses that I came across in my
childhood. She was a very versatile actress, who played comedy and tragedy with
the same zest. She was the only actress who could play any role. The first song
I ever danced to in front of an audience was ‘Naam Mera Premkali’ from the film
‘ChaalBaaz’ at a school gathering when I was in Class 5. She was a family
person and didn’t do much of interviews but she was always shining on screen.

was a beautiful actress and she portrayed each role perfectly. More than her
earlier films, I enjoyed her comeback with films like ‘English Vinglish’ and
‘Mom’. I enjoyed her role as a homemaker, who wanted to achieve her goals in
‘English Vinglish’ and in ‘Mom’ she played a mother who is avenging the death
of her daughter. She looked great on screen, even after making her comeback to
the industry after 15 years. She will be greatly missed and I feel even sadder
that she won’t see her daughter’s film debut.
