Although DJ Reonn had begun his spell of
addictive music right from 5.30 in the evening, it was Rhythm & Blues who
took the excitement to higher levels with their timeless melodies on day 2 of
the 3-day Goa Food and Music Festival presented by Herald Group. Following a
packed house on Day 1 of the Goa Food and Music Festival presented by Herald
Group, the second day of the mega event started on an even higher note as
visitors walked into the venue in huge numbers with their complimentary copy of
Herald Café. The first edition of Goa Food and Music Festival has been
receiving a tremendous response by the food and music lovers from within and
outside Goa and the concluding day today appears to be only bigger.
While the music being played at the venue
tempted the people passing by to enter the venue, the aroma of the
mouth-watering delicacies from the numerous food counters that had filled the
air, almost dragged them in. The scrumptious food items coupled with great
entertainment on the stage made it for a perfect weekend family outing as many
were seen having a ball of a time with their loved ones. DJ Reonn set the mood
for the evening on Saturday as he began playing his fusion tracks in succession
to make way for Omkar Melodies who took the charge of the stage and continued
entertaining the audience with their music. The ramp was then set ablaze by
models walking in tastefully designed clothes designed by Manik Kudale. The
crowd went berserk and cheered for the beautiful damsels as they took turns to
dazzle the stage.
It was then the turn of a splendid dance
performance by Dance Illusions who entertained the audience with their Latin
moves. The young dancers received a loud applause for their breathtaking
performance. The stage transformed into a ramp yet again as fashion designer
Malusha Dias presented her collection and presented to the crowd a set of Goan
beauties who impressed everyone with their catwalk. The models took turns to
display the garments designed by the talented Goan designer. It was then the
turn of Rhythm and Blues with Lulu and Brothers in Arms who stepped on the
stage with a loud cheer from their fans and got the audience hooked right from
their first song. The event witnessed a sweet moment when an elderly couple,
Mike and Manju’ walked in the stage to “Ain’t No Sunshine” being performed by
the band and won the hearts of all those present.
As the food stalls continued to serve the
huge number of visitors, beers and wines kept flowing freely over the weekend.
By the time the event started nearing its deadline of 10 pm, a big number of
people made a beeline to the HCN stall to try their luck as, for the first
time, the draw of Mexican Housie and German Housie was conducted live at the
venue. Although lady luck chose to smile on around 30 winners who were rewarded
on the spot, others who did not, vowed to try their luck again at the special
draw of Mexican Housie which will be held only at the venue live on Sunday.
Day 3 of the festival promises to end on a
higher note as the audience will see Goa’s nightingale, Lorna perform live yet
again at the venue. Sharing the responsibility of entertaining the audience are
DJ Ryan Pinto and ‘Sav and the Gang’ featuring DJ Neil. Catch some Bollywood
moves by Unbeatables while Forefront will make you dance your night away.
