The Swarmangesh classical music and dance festival will take place on December 6th, 7th, and 8th at the Dinanath Mangeshkar Auditorium, Kala Academy Panjim. This is the 13 th edition of the festival. Inaugurated by Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar twelve years ago, this festival has been a celebration of music, rhythm, dance, and tradition, offering an exceptional experience to connoisseurs.
This year, the festival will be inaugurated by Goa’s Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant. The opening performance will be by Goa’s renowned sitarist Pt Vinayak Chittra accompanied by eminent tabla artist Pt Pasthasarathi Mukherjee. This will be followed by a vocal recital by acclaimed classical vocalist Pt Sanjeev Abhyankar with tabla accompaniment by Mayank Bedekar and harmonium support by Nilay Salvi.

At the press conference held to announce the hosting of the festival Dr Pravin Goankar said they had requested all th stars at the festival that they would prefer if the accompanist were Goan musicians. It was a request which was accepted by everyone.
On Saturday a morning vocal recital by Padma Shri Pt. Venkatesh Kumar, accompanied by tabla artist Dr. Uday Kulkarni and harmonium player Subhash Fatarpekar would be followed by a Kathak dance performance by Delhi-based dancer Nayanika Ghosh, with accompaniment by tabla artist Anshul Pratap Singh, vocalist Somnath Mishra, pakhawaj player Kunal Patil, and sarangi artist Wasim Khan. In the evening a promiisng student of the Sajeevan music academy , Arati Gawade will perform and she will be accompanied by tabla player Rohidas Parab, harmonium player Prasad Gawas, and sarangi artist Wasim Khan.
This will be folowed by a jugalbandi by performance by Dr. Prabhakar Kashyap and Dr. Diwakar Kashyap, supported by tabla artist Amar Mopkar and harmonium player Subhash Fatarpekar. The evening will conclude with a sitar recital by legendary sitarist Padma Shri Ustad Shahid Parvez, accompanied by tabla maestro Ustad Akram Khan from Delhi.
On Sunday the proceedings will start with a vocal recital by Dr. Pravin Gaonkar, accompanied by tabla artist Ustad Akram Khan, sarangi maestro Ustad Dilshad Khan, and harmonium player Dattaraj Mhalshi. Followed by a vocal performance by eminent singer Devaki Pandit, with tabla accompaniment by Dayesh Kossambe and harmonium by Dattaraj Surlakar. The morning session will conclude with a Carnatic flute recital by Vidwaan Shashank Subramanyam, accompanied by mridangam artist Patri Satish Kumar and ghatam player R. Krishna Kumar.
The final session of the festival will commence with a performance by Shreya Chatterjee, a disciple of Padma Bhushan Pt. Ajay Chakraborty, accompanied by tabla player Rishikesh Phadke and harmonium player Anay Ghate. This will be followed by a tabla jugalbandi by Pt. Ram Kumar Mishra and his son Rahul Kumar Mishra, with sarangi accompaniment by Ustad Dilshad Khan. The festival will conclude with a grand “Trio” performance featuring tabla maestro Pt. Kumar Bose, sarod virtuoso Pt. Debojyoti Bose, and vocalist Manali Bose.
The festival will feature an exhibition of rare music books, recordings, and instruments, creating a unique musical atmosphere.
