ABU DHABI- October 25, 2019
Into its 5th edition, Abu Dhabi Goans will present their World
Goa Day celebrations this year on October 25, 2019. This is the group behind
the most entertaining houseful Goan events in Abu Dhabi. The team has become
stronger than ever, organising events for the last 7 years. “The event will
feature one of Goa’s leading sources of Goan music and entertainment, the band
Forefront, along with Abu Dhabi’s scintillating band La Vida. Also in
attendance will be Abu Dhabi’s famed DJ Rudy and Gulf Voice of Goa, Aviella. We
also have the best mood setter in town, Perviz and Lineker,” says Dreferd
Silveira, a member of Abu Dhabi Goans.
The World Goa Day in Abu Dhabi will focus
on bringing Goans together under one roof. The goal is to showcase the culture
and art of Goa through music, entertainment and cultural acts. “The team is
also proud to have one of Goa’s best wedding photographer, Neil Rodrigues of
Photooneil Photography. Neil will be involved in covering the photos of the
event, capturing and creating memories. With his exceptional talent, we are
sure the memories will stay fresh for years to come,” adds Dreferd.
DUBAI- November 1, 2019
In Dubai, World Goa Day will be celebrated on November 1, 2019.
Green Leaf Events are well known in the entertainment industry for organising
various cultural events in the Emirates. UAE Goans, a voluntary organisation,
was established with the mission to enhance the standing of the Goan Community
in the UAE and to promote social, cultural, sporting aspirations of the Goans
in the UAE.
“It all started back in March 2018 when Rene Barreto (WGD
Founder) approached me to assist the team in the global celebrations. Being in
constant touch with Rene, Savio Rebeiro and Maria Gomes Fernandes over the
following six months, planning and designing the global celebrations, I
personally felt it was time for Dubai to be a part of the global celebrations.
I was then introduced by Rene Barreto to Billy Fernandes (popular for his
cartoons, Billytoons), who helped take this forward. Allen Patrick Fernandes
and his team of UAE Goans joined us and played an active role in collaborating
and making this event a huge success,” says Neville Menezes of Green Leaf
Events.
He adds, “After a successful and power-packed World Goa Day
2018, we are back again and all geared up for the World Goa Day DXB 2019. This
year is dedicated to our youth globally with the theme ‘Amchi Bhurgim Amcho
Fuddar’. This year’s edition is going to be more special since WGD Globally is
celebrating its 20th Anniversary.”
The
entertainment for the evening will include Goan band True Blue, along with DJ
Joel from Goa along with Rubaru World Beauty Queen India 2019 and World Beauty
Queen 2019 second Runner Up, Nakita Tania Fernandes. Global internet sensation
Sanio Fernandes supported by Dubai’s Best DJ Brendan, DJ Usman, DJ Valentino,
Tony Kizomboy, MC Wilfred and MC Bonnie Ferns will also be present.
