Three DJs to look out for at Vh1 Supersonic 2015

Some of the lesser known names from the underground music scene are going to give India a dose of their infectious music at Vh1 Supersonic this year. These rather underrated artistes are touted by industry experts to make it really big in the next couple of years. Café brings to you three such names

Franky Rizardo:  Having established himself as one  of the biggest draws in Holland’s house  music circuit with a style that works as  well on big stages as it does in sweaty  clubs, Franky Rizardo is now rapidly  expanding his horizons across the world.  Releases on OFF, Defected and Spinnin’  demonstrate an increasingly strong  production career, while his Flow radio  show and events are fast becoming a  major part of the house music landscape  across the world. Since his OFF  Recordings EP hit Beatport’s Deep House  Top 25, he’s been working manically on  a slew of new tracks – including four
new  tracks and 6 new remixes for his
Deep  Down & Defected compilation. He
makes  snappy house music, full of
character  and attitude and wrapped up in
crisp,  punchy production. His tracks
find the  perfect balance between
underground  groove and accessible hook,
serving as  a neat microcosm of his
position in the  DJing spectrum. With so
much going on,  industry experts are
predicting the future  of this talented
DJ to be exceptionally  bright.

Festival Director, Nikhil Chinapa says:  “He’s a rising star of the global house  music scene. He plays an infectious sound  that is perfect for a beach music
festival.”

Joran Van Pol:  Imagine the two heavyweights of  electronic music both wanting to sign  your debut EP, when you’re only 22  years old. This dream of Joran Van Pol  actually came true when he found out  Richie Hawtin as well as Dubfire were  equally impressed by his music. As a  result, Joran consecutively signed EP’s  to Richie’s Minus and Dubfire’s SCI+TEC.  This all happened shortly after Joran’s  track ‘Untitled 2’ was signed to Minus12  and appeared on Richie Hawtin’s MixMag  cover mount compilation.  But it’s not only because of his efforts  in the studio Joran van Pol is the one to  watch. Also when it comes to DJ’ing,  Joran always knows the right records to  pull out of his bag to get the dance-floor  going in exactly the direction he wants
it  to – ecstatic and longing for more
when  he plays the last track. According
to  industry experts, it Joran’s
extraordinary  talent, astonishing  production skills  and perhaps most  importantly, his  positive attitude  that have got
things going for him. It won’t be long
now until Joran van Pol takes the
electronic music scene by storm himself.

Nikhil Chinapa says:  “His
collaboration with Joris  Voorn resulted
in one of the biggest  Tech-House records
of the year. Sonic  Highway has also been
used as the  promo song of the Awakenings
video for  Vh1 Supersonic.”

Don Diablo:
Don’s remix of Alex Adair’s “Make
Me Feel Better”, held the no. 1 position
on Beatport for over two weeks. Warner
Brothers also asked Don to create the
worldwide theme song for the highly
anticipated ‘Batman Arkham Origins’
game. The track and the accompanying
video became an instant viral hit racking  up millions of YouTube plays.  Don’s firm radio support in  tastemaker countries like the U.K. and  the U.S.A. introduced the Dutchman  to a wider audience this year. His own  HEXAGON radio show is currently aired  in over 35 countries and holds a solid  top 10 position in the iTunes podcast  section every week, thus reaching  millions of people across the planet. In  October 2015, during the annual DJMag  Top100 awards, Don was awarded with  the ‘highest climber of the year’ prize,  moving 52 places up the list from 82 to  30. His packed travel schedule rockin’  nearly every major club and festival  around the world as well as his
residency  at Vegas superclub ‘Hakkasan’
are  also evident proof of his ever
growing  worldwide fan base.

Nikhil Chinapa says:  “Don Diablo has had a massive year  with a bagful of hit records and remixes  that have been played by some of the  world’s biggest DJs. He’s definitely
going  to put a smile on your face when
you’re  fist pumping and dancing in front
of the  Iron Heart.”
