The board has various announcements;– scuba diving over the weekend, nature walk at
Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary, crocodile sightseeing, ocean trek in Arambol… For
the more indoor minded, Atreya was planning a show of ‘The Gangs of Wasseypur’,
where everyone would have to bring a dish that would be shared amongst all
those present. It does make for a very interesting start to one’s week. Of
course there are also details of assignments available and call for help by
teams for individuals with specific skill sets.
Co –working ,
especially in Goa, has undergone a metamorphosis. Work an living spaces,
especially in the mid are overlapping,. There are no walls. The seamless
connect between those working in formal co working spaces also co-living can be
clearly felt. While those in co working spaces are not co-workers in the same
project or company they work in the same environment day in and out. Quite
naturally, they connect at a personal level too.

a license to getting a google pin sent on the location for the nearest pakora

As co-working facilities pop up all over the place, the dynamics
of that function called ‘doing a job’ are changing. This holds true for a place
like Goa too. As corporates expand their reach and look at innovative ways to
motivate staff, facilities that allow for co-working or co-living spaces are
looked at seriously by human resource departments in companies. More
importantly, start-ups are looking at these facilities as bases.
Darryl Zuzarte, who is part of the management team at 91
Springboard Panjim, says that they have teams that comprise two to three at the
most and the odd team that comprises 25-odd members. Some of the biggest
companies in the country, he says, had set up their offices at the facility
before moving on to more conventional spaces. The general profile of the
individuals working at the facility is someone who has worked at a senior
position, acquired skills and travelled abroad as well as across the country.
This gives them an insight into the workings of their target markets. They are
also comfortable around people and enjoy the opportunities of interaction that
arise repeatedly in such a framework.
He said many of the teams coordinated weekend activities. It
would not be unusual to read about an invite given to people for potluck. He
says that since people at the facility come from places as different as Bihar
and Tamil Nadu, it always makes for an interesting experience. It is not
unusual for people to get involved in activities as diverse as river rafting or
trying a cuisine they had never had before or in beach cleaning, he adds.
In Co working spaces like Blue Lotus in the sleepy village of
Ucassaim, co- living is literal. The gorgeous space with leafy outdoors and
spacious airy indoors allow you to book rooms which lets you live adn work in
the same space with meals and housekeeping taken care of.
Interestingly Goa lends itself to this more than urban metros,
and likely to have more people from the big cities moving to Goa, to lead the
Goa way of life. And the Goa way of life, actually takes some time to imbibe in
the truest sense. But with help from some who have had a head-start,
adjustments happen faster and settling down becomes a breeze.
