NDA candidate, JD(S) MP and grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, Prajwal Revanna, who captured videos of hundreds of women while being raped and being forced into physical relations, has fled from Karnataka to Germany.
Though a look-out notice has been issued against him, it is claimed to be the worst and biggest sex scandal in the country so far. Prajwal Revanna is the candidate from Hassan Lok Sabha constituency in Karnataka where the polling took place on April 26. A few days ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a campaign meeting for Prajwal and appealed to the people to elect him with huge vote margin as the BJP has formed an alliance with JD(S) in Karnataka.
Although a case was registered against Prajwal after a former maid who used to work at his house filed a complaint against him at the police station, he had already fled to Germany. Not one and two, but more than 2800 videos of Prajwal’s perverted exploits have gone viral in Karnataka.
This MP, who was obsessed with power and money, used to forcibly rape women he came in contact with and made videos of them and threatened to make the videos viral if they spoke about them. But his threat has backfired on him.
The woman who filed the complaint has also named Prajwal’s father HD Revanna. However, HD Revanna claimed that these are old tampered video clips. This implies that Prajwal has been doing this shameful business for many years. Then naturally the question arises as to how did the BJP, which is always bragging about women’s power, formed an alliance with the party which has such an MP with bad character? And why did the Prime Minister campaign for such a candidate when his deeds are known to the whole of Karnataka? Also, who gave him the opportunity to escape to Germany despite this case coming up, and why?
The Congress has raised many such questions and targeted the BJP, i.e. Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Obviously, Home Minister Amit Shah has now started responding to this criticism. Amit Shah has asked a counter question, why didn’t the ruling Congress government in Karnataka take action against Prajwal?
They have tried to blunt down the criticism of the Congress and other opposition parties by asking such a counter question. But there is strong anger among the women of Karnataka against the exploits of Revanna, in fact, the voting in Revanna’s Hassan constituency has already taken place.
Two days before the voting, some of these videos had gone viral. Later, more videos of Revanna came out. This is a very horrible incident. Revanna will be arrested one day or the other. But what will happen to the women whose identity has been made public through these videos? How will they live the rest of their lives now? The video was actually shot by Prajwal himself. It is understood that the videos were leaked from his laptop. And according to Prajwal’s father, these videos are very old. If so, then who will accept the claim of BJP that they did not know anything about this before? Because it is not acceptable to anyone that the BJP, which has taken up the task of freeing the country from corruption by keeping information about the illegal activities of people in every corner of the country along with their wealth, and raiding them with the help of ED, CBI, IT, is not be aware of this terrible crimes of Revanna.
These videos that came out during the Lok Sabha elections have in fact tarnished the BJP’s image more than that of the JD(S). Is this BJP’s Nari Shakti, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao policy? Such questions are being asked to the BJP office bearers in Karnataka. The remaining 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka will go to polls on May 7. Obviously, the possibility of the BJP or JD (S) candidates suffering due to these videos cannot be ruled out.
The BJP is trying to wash off its hands from this issue. Technically, the BJP is not directly involved in this issue. But, whenever BJP leaders start talking about women power, women empowerment, women’s safety or start criticizing other parties, they also need to answer about the alliance with Prajwal Revanna. HD Revanna has claimed that these videos are morphed. But then comes the question, why did Prajwal Revanna leave India and flee to Germany? With advanced technology, it will barely take a few hours to prove if the videos are morphed.
By using the technology, Revanna could have proved his innocence. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Revanna has indirectly confessed to his deeds by running away. Home Minister Amit Shah has said that right action will be taken as per the law. JD(S) has expelled Prajwal Revanna from the party after criticism from all sides. Therefore, even if Prajwal is elected as MP from Hassan constituency on June 4, he will have to resign and EC will have to hold a by-election there. In any case, if this 35-year-old perverted young man, who is full of power and money, is not shackled, it will not only be a gross insult to women, but also the country’s honour will go down in shame once again.
