I strongly believe that the individuals who are still spitting venom against all English-supporting Goan parents over the issue of MoI are inwardly not Konkani but are all pro-Maharashtrawadi supporters who are just fighting to safeguard the rights of Marathi to slowly fulfill their long cherish dream of turning this unique state into another mini-Maharashtra by mischievously wearing two separate hats i.e. one of mother tongue and the other of regional language or Marathi to be precise bluffing Goans.
These individuals don’t mind the rich parents in sending their children in private-run English medium primary schools paying huge sums of money or donations, they don’t mind the government in supporting casinos, unleashing anti-Goan projects etc but they just don’t want the government to give grants for English medium primary schools and to provide equal opportunities or free English medium primary education for all the poor and downtrodden children of Goa.
I think that this whole thing clearly shows these individuals are not just communal but are born selfish people who just want to see only children of the rich to come up in life and children of the poor to remain forever backward playing their own dirty tactics.
Today, if most Goan parents are hell-bent on sending their children to English medium primary schools by even paying money then that’s because they know the importance of this language. They very well know that without the knowledge of English, their children have absolutely no future in today’s modern competitive world as one needs complete fluency in this language everywhere if one has to really survive.
Can these self-styled custodians or defenders of mother tongues, regional/Indian languages who are still trying to misguide everyone over the issue of MoI ever guarantee our children descent jobs right here in Goa or India even after forcibly unleashing their own stupid agendas/ideas on us Goan parents?
Of course, these individuals are always seen giving their own justifications as if everything is sound and simple even after passing-out from Marathi medium primary schools in Goa. But the one thing I have personally always seen is that most Goans whom I have come across and who have passed-out from Marathi medium primary schools finding it very difficult to speak even simple English without any proper ascent/pronunciations and due to which living with low-esteem or having no confidence at all to face even some simple challenges in life.
When the English-supporting parents (who are actually inwardly all die-hard Konkani supporters) have no complaints whatsoever against those sending their children to Marathi medium primary schools then why do these pro-Maharashtrawadi Marathi supporters have a problem with English-supporting parents? Today, English is a language which is practically not just vastly used for all official purpose but is even spoken in most Goan houses unlike Marathi which is only learnt in schools by our Hindu community, then used for all official purposes but is hardly spoken in public or in houses by the same community in Goa.
