The BJP at the Center, as well as in Goa, was given a mandate due to the bad governance of the previous Congress government. Hence the nation had yearned for good governance. But no sooner did the BJP accept the mandate, instead of respecting the peoples’ verdict in right earnest, it seems to be faltering.
The word “governance” was heard at every speech given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Instead of governance, what we are witnessing today are tall fairy tales, ghar wapsi calls, church vandalism, rapes and an irreverent attitude of the ministers.
The communal face of the party has been unmasked and has been seen all over the world. Not so long ago the same PM had attacked the then Congress PM Manmohan Singh for his silence in matters of various scams that rocked India. What we see today is nothing different. While Modi is preoccupied with his “development agenda”, the fringe elements of RSS and VHP are spewing venom at the minorities. How can the PM deny that he has not given his blessings to these fringe elements to run amok?
It is time we, all Indians, look to change this Modi sarkar rather than repent when it’s too late.
People have been given an opportunity to judge the difference between good and bad governance. Having gained some confidence in AAP in Delhi in the beginning, the people had high hopes of an alternative form of governance. But that dream too has been very short-lived given the manner in which the party has been functioning of late. Autocracy and dictatorship has no role to play in governance in India.
All the misdeeds of the BJP, in the center or in the state, are being noted so that the people will have an opportunity to undo their past mistakes in electing the BJP.
Congress too has to do some good homework or they will miss the bus once again. I am sure no Goan would like to see the old rogues make a comeback.
The greatest liability for the BJP is the fringe element which they find difficult to tame while the Congress has to do away with their rogues.
The onus is with the Congress to galvanize and choose their leaders in right earnest as early as possible so that they have time to work in their constituency and not wait until the 11th hour when the Assembly elections are due in 2017.
