Maggi noodles is a name that isn’t unfamiliar to all of us and there has been a craze for it. Not only is it the favorite of kids and teenagers due to it being tasty but it is also picked up by mother’s from the shelves as they find it very convenient to cook and serve the same to kids with their busy lifestyle nowadays. No wonder we see Maggi noodles packed in the tiffins of school-going children. Also with top celebrities advertising the product and vouching on the health and nutritional benefits of Maggi noodles it was treated as the quick healthy snack, for some it was even a replacement of their meals.
However, the detection of mono-sodium glutamate and lead in excess of the prescribed limit in Maggi noodles has created an awakening in the nation. The samples of noodles are being tested in various states now and some states like Delhi have banned the sales of Maggi noodles temporarily. It’s high time now that we shift to healthier options like fruits, oats and salads and do take 2 minutes of caution and think before we pick the packet of Maggi off the shelve next time.
