BJP stands exposed

The ruling BJP government should be flayed for deliberately organizing a Goa Film Fest right during the ongoing Holy week and for daringly insulting the sentiments of Catholics one’s again in Goa.  Would the same BJP government have dared to organize this same film fest during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival in Goa? I really doubt.
Of course, the organizers or the individuals who are connected with the said film fest say that they had fixed the dates months back and during the last so many days, no one complained, so why now?  Why, aren’t these organizers or individuals connected with this film fest and who have fixed these dates not Goans? Then how come they did not understand anything about the significance of this great religious event of Catholics whilst fixing the dates of the said film fest in Goa?
Anyway, three cheers one’s again to our gutsy leaders like Vijay Sardesai, Reginaldo Lourenco, Michael Lobo and Rohan Khaunte for exposing another dirty wicked trick and rightly showing the true communal face of the BJP in Goa.  Well done boys and keep it up…  Thanks for always fighting on behalf of Goans to protect the communal harmony of Goa…

Convicted minister
A minister in the present government of Goa has been convicted by the court for assaulting a government servant on duty. The honourable option for the honorable minister would have been to quit his post the moment the punishment was confirmed by the court. But he has not and probably would not. This is the usual behaviour of our politicos: Come what may, they would stick to the chair. Further they have the resources to turn our judicial system upside down; they can hire the best of the legal luminaries to escape from the clutches of the law. It seems the said minister is going to file a review petition in the Supreme Court. But till the Supreme Court decides, he could have left the comforts of the ministerial chair. In the meanwhile why is the Chief Minister keeping quiet?  He is a silent spectator to the illegality of having a convicted person in his cabinet. What for is he waiting? For some divine intervention? Political propriety should not remain just a political slogan; it must be demonstrated through action.
The Chief Minister would earn public approbation if he shows the door to the obstinate minister till the name of the said minister is cleared by the courts.

Politics is not a tiatr
Goa’s politicians are turning out to be a national embarrassment. This time it is the chief minister who ‘allegedly’  told striking nurses that they should call off their strike and go home else they will get a tan which will damage their marriage prospects. Such sexist comments must be condemned in the strongest terms. What about the thousands of women who for generations have been working in fields? Is the CM suggesting that they too should leave the fields and go home?
It is now a well known  national and international tourist destination. Political peccadilloes are lapped up by TV reporters and  aired on national TV for days. Foot-in-the-mouth politicians are an embarrassment to the Goan diaspora who find it increasingly difficult to explain in India and abroad , the utterances of their politicians.  Our Goan politicians must realize  that they are ministers and MLAs representing Goans .They are not actors in a tiatr where slapstick humour is justified.

World Class
I take this opportunity of sharing this delightful experience with your readers and recording my appreciation to the team at Passport Seva Kendra, Panaji for a world class performance. I had applied for a reissue of my passport and attended the appointment on 31st March, 2015. I finished the procedural requirements by about 1.00pm. This afternoon I was thrilled, when the postman delivered my new passport at my doorstep. Kudos to  Agnelo A.J. Fernandes, Passport Officer and his team for a truly world class performance.
