Get the farmer on board

The ban on bull slaughter in Maharashtra  has generated a lot of  interest on national  TV.   While all govt, political and religious  opinions are well represented on TV panels , the people most affected by the ban are not. Why are farmers not included on  TV panel while discussing the ban on bull slaughter?
For some people the ban on bull slaughter has to do with religious sentiments, for others it is a matter of compassion towards all creatures. But for the farmer it is an issue of survival, plain and simple. The farmer cannot afford to feed a non productive animal. Moreover he has to sell the animal to part finance purchase of a cow or bull. Allow the farmer to speak on national TV and he will destroy all arguments favouring the ban. Sadly, nobody really cares about the farmer.
