And now Lata Dhavalikar has come out with some regressive and most disturbing statement that rape is the cause of Western culture. What she has done is that she has shown her ignorance about the psychological background which is behind all rape cases. Rapists a depraved individuals with no respect for women. Everyday news reports mention about rapes, some of the happening in the remotest corners of the country, often in villages. And there are a phalanx of cases of child rapes being reported off and on. So, according to Lata, these are happening due to Western culture!
Firstly, if she really follows Indian culture, she would not have made such a rash statement which reeks of revenge. And then her saying that no one should attend convent schools exhibits her medieval mindset which openly condemns convent education which actually makes students well-cultured, well-behaved, dignified, sophisticated, et al. Her condemnation of convent education is totally against Indian culture, which predominantly preaches tolerance, and acceptability of differences in society. This shows Lata is just not adhering to Indian culture.
If this is not hypocrisy, then what is it?
