Erroneous power bills
Many of the electricity consumers are receiving exorbitant electricity bills for past few months. As the days are passing by it is becoming worse and such erroneous bills are now received almost every month by almost all, causing great inconvenience to the consumers. Filing multiple complaints are in turn falling on the deaf years. Faulty bills are attributed to faulty meters, which is actually not the case, causing unnecessary harassment to the citizens and charging them for new meters.

The Electricity Department’s erroneous calculation of bills and charging the consumers with more than what they really bound to pay is gravely affecting the people who are already going through hard time with either losing their jobs/businesses or working on half payments due to pandemic issues.
It is high time that Electricity department should take healing measures to avoid such faulty bills and work for discharging faultless services to the citizens of the nation who pay tax for efficient and honest running of the Electricity department. Hoping to see better days for the Citizens of India.

Question to parents
This question goes to those Particular Parents, who are not interested in having politicians accountable, or not at least speaking up for all the destruction happening, or not expressing solidarity with those fighting for our planet, environment, ecology, anti-coal, against chopping of thousands of trees, etc. All to feed the greed of many politicians and their specific lobbies, etc.
Appreciate you could be busy preparing and educating Kids for a great future in World- where Environment, Ecology, Trees, Climate, Water/Food resources being devastated by Politicians and related air/water pollution being caused at an alarming rate! So coming back to asking my question: What Future Will your kids actually have in an increasing devastated/dying planet?

Death of forecaster of political weather
In the death of Union Minister for Consumer Affairs Ram Vilas Paswan, country has lost a political personality who was rightly seen as a forecaster for political weather making him a politician who could wisely use every opportunity to switch sides to retain a berth in Union Cabinet associated with as many as six Prime Ministers with different ideologies.
Death of any human being is regrettable. But example of Ram Vilas Paswan as politician does call for massive and consolidated poll-reforms whereby no person may be able to remain in politics by playing politics of opportunism with changing sides based on personal political gains rather than ideologies. However, Ram Vilas Paswan made the nation proud by being the only Indian politician who could register his name in prestigious Guinness Book of World Records.
It will be better if family of the deceased politician also takes care of his two other daughters from his first wife.

Postage stamp on Covid warriors
It is understood that a special philatelic cover on the Basilica of Bom Jesus at Old Goa is being released to commemorate the 180th year of expansion of postal services in Goa in connection with the World Post Day. It is true that the Basilica which stands out as a unique monument for its exposed laterite walls and Renaissance style of architecture is visited by thousands of tourists and pilgrims from across the globe the whole year round.
India Post will be celebrating October 9-14 as National Postal Week. It is a well-known fact that in these times of the pandemic, the Covid Warriors have been providing yeomen service to citizens who have been infected by the deadly coronavirus and in the process putting their own lives at risk. These Covid Warriors include doctors, nurses, para-medical staff, hospital workers, policemen, and even postmen among others. There have been several instances of doctors contracting the virus while on line of duty. Some have even succumbed to the disease.
Since these Covid Warriors have been working silently to help people deal with the pandemic, it would be desirable for the Goa Postal Division to also release a postage stamp in honour of the Covid Warriors during the National Postal Week. It is the least we can do to show our gratefulness to these real-life heroes who are serving humanity in these trying times.

Security bouncers?
Four bouncers from a private security Agency were arrested for snatching gold chains/mobiles in Calangute. There have been numerous incidents of security personnel involved in illegal activities including the murder of a gated colony female resident staying alone. We are hearing of ‘bouncers’ first time in a Security Firm!
When a person with the title of ‘Security’ resorts to crime not a one of case- then it is a travesty of justice. The Police have openly declared that they are unable to verify the antecedents of all ‘Security’ staff. The Private Security Agencies too have claimed this as impossible. This is nothing but casually discarding responsibility. Many of such Agencies are run by Politicians and therefore we see no implementation of rules.
First off, the term security must be changed to Watchmen. By calling them security, we are giving a false sense of security to vulnerable people. The very essence of security means the personnel must be above board.
Despite the outgoing Lokayukta a Retired SC Judge saying that the Go Lokayukta Act needs amendments in line with those in Kerala/Karnataka- no politician is taking this forward. They are all in the same boat; hence we will see no verification of Security Personnel too.
