Goa’s eco-tourism policy is good for a laugh, if not anything else! While the Regional Plan is frozen permission is given case-by-case. The so-called eco-friendly projects are going to disturb the ecological balance of the environment.
In the case of marinas the plant and fish life will be damaged and, an act of this kind, can hardly be labeled co-friendly or eco-tourism. Eco-terrorism might be a better way to describe it. Nature is God for some people. For others, it is God’s creation. God or God’s creation it makes little sense to destroy our environment – our home – because of our unlimited greed!
“Goans are against all development,” is a popular song sung by our politicians of all parties. No, not all development, only destruction of the environment and anti-people development! The government needs to be able to tell the difference!
