Though it is mandatory for petrol pump owners to supply free compressed air to its customers to refill the tyres, in Goa I don’t see any pump owners giving this service for the people. I have personally asked two or three petrol pump employees to refill my car tyres the answer I got is that the compressor is out of order.
The authorities should conduct surprise check whether the compressor are really out of order or the petrol pump owners just don’t want to give this service for the public. Bharat Petroleum should also ensure that their dealers do comply with requirements and boldly make it visible near the petrol pumps that the compressed air is free, especially for customers who fill fuel at respective petrol pumps.
