It is a great achievement that a son of Goa should become the defence minister and congratulations to Mr Parrikar would be in order and we all would be tempted to celebrate.
But is this a sign of things to come? Is the BJP moving from Goa the only politician who is capable of allowing Goa to remain true to its identity! Will Parrikar’s move be a signal to the extremists who are eager to foist their ideas on our land and its people? And have the stakes for Mopa also changed? Our existing airport is controlled by the Navy! Things to ponder over!’
