It must be said that thieves take the opportunity of the fact that people go to their ancestral villages to celebrate the festival by breaking into such houses. Despite their best efforts the police may not be able to keep a vigil on each and every house which is vacant. They cannot be present at all places all the time.
It would therefore be in the fitness of things for those who stay back and do not go to their ancestral villages or those belonging to other communities to keep an eye on the houses the occupants of which have gone to the ancestral homes. A vigilant neighborhood is the need of hour, specially, during the festive times and when people go on long vacations.
